Many of the early straw holders in soda fountains were metal, like this one. The sides were open so the customer could remove one or two straws at a time. The top lifts off so the soda jerk and refill the straws easily. This straw holder is silver plate over brass and we lightly cleaned, so it has great aged look on it. It could be resilvered, but it is beautiful as is, but we are leaving that up to the buyer. It stands almost twelve inches tall and the base measures four inches in diameter. Some minor dents on the top from dropping, and some small bends on the bottom lip for the same reason. It was used and loved at some early fountain. Very nice decorative trim on the top and base for that added touch. It is marked “AM SODAFT.CO.” on the bottom with “EXTRA” and “1207”. 18485-QPP
