1930s Pontiac Dealership Metal Over Cardboard Embossed Sign

During the 1930s, Pontiac stylized their logo from the iconic Indian Head to a more streamlined, less “cartoonish” Native American, and this logo was the result. This embossed square metal sign features the logo in gold, with a black background, and white “Pontiac” letters across the top. It features a cardboard backer with a hanging string at the top with three small hooks on the bottom, and is marked “Copyright By Frank Cavanau Associates, Detroit 5, Michigan” across the top. Some light scratches with minor paint loss can be seen on the front, with a few small bends in the metal. The wear is typical, as this was a dealership sign and was moved around often. 20647-RUT
