Reverse Glass Mirror Federal Period Folk Art

Has been lovingly displayed in our home, now time to turn this piece of history to another to enjoy! Dating from the 1st quarter of the 19th century, this country made Federal style mirror has a reverse painted image of a farm house on the top glass and its original mirror glass below. The wooden frame is decorated with fluted columns on the sides, covered in newer barn red paint with soft yellow highlights. The reverse painted top has a great folk art image of a colonial home with trees on each side. This great piece has adored my dressing room for over 15 years. The mirror measures 21 inches tall by 12 inches wide and is in good condition with 2 cracks in the reverse painted upper panel, a palm sized area of silver peeling on the mirror, and a newer upper back panel. 1094-81WTP
