To protect delicate paper stamps from damage and humidity, postage stamp holders were used, such as this 1900 Coca-Cola celluloid holder. The outer cover was celluloid, which allowed advertisers to print on it with ease, and inside was wax paper to protect postage stamps. One side shows a letter with “The Coca-Cola Co Atlanta Georgia” written on one side with a stamp and a 1900 postmark. The other shows the lines of an envelope with “Drink Delicious Refreshing Coca-Cola” on it. In the middle is a 1900 calendar, with each month, and wax paper on each side. From use, the binder is cracked, and one of the wax pages is loose. Only one staple holds the papers to the cover. It measures 1.5 inches tall by 2.5 inches wide. This is a very fragile, rarely seen item that will be an asset to your collection! 21614-EUP
