Colorful and eye-catching, Coca-Cola produced beautiful cardboard festoons and gave them to soda fountains to display on their back bars for customers’ delight. This one was produced in 1932 and was called Verbena. It features a lovely lady in the middle holding a glass of Coca-Cola. Flowers surround her, with the Coca-Cola sign below in iconic colors. As part of the display, it features fabric ribbons that connect the pieces. The center piece measures 22 inches tall and 32.5 inches wide. The left outer leaf is torn and missing. It has minor edge wear and small tears in a few places. The flaps are intact, but folded from use. On the reverse side, a small amount of water damage is evident on the right. The left-side flowers measure 13.5 inches tall by 20.5 inches wide and have fabric ribbons attached. Minor outer edge wear with the flaps folded and stapled. The right side flowers measure 13.5 inches tall by 20.5 inches wide, with the fabric ribbons attached. This piece has minor outer edge wear with litho lifted from one of the flowers. The flaps are folded and stapled, with a tear on the back where one set of ribbons is attached. The ribbons are wrinkled from storage and are split in a few places. The two end pieces are both right sides, so although it is missing the left side, you can make this festoon look complete. They measure 11 1/8 inches tall by 14.5 inches long. One is in very nice condition, with minor edge wear, and both flaps are folded down and stapled. It also has a small scratch in the litho finish. The second one has some water damage, which has caused staining on the front and separation between the litho and the cardboard backer. The flaps on this one have not been bent over, so it is in unused condition. It is hard to find any festoons from the 1930s, so make sure to add this to your collection! 21504-TPP
