Early World’s Fairs were full of many new inventions that were shown to the public for the first time. The Chicago fair was planned around the cities centennial, and was two years, 1933 to 1934. This thermometer measures three and a half inches tall by three and a half inches wide and features a metal housing and back. The face of the thermometer is thin plastic. A small chip is in the textured finish on the upper right of this piece of history. It is marked “A Century Of Progress” on the face, which was the slogan for the fair. 19566-OW
