By re-branding their image, 7UP was able to bounce back from bankruptcy and appeal to a completely different type of customer. Calling itself “The Uncola” just a few months before Woodstock in 1969, the psychedelic artwork and colors was an instant hit with the hippie crowd. Although most artwork is attributed to Peter Max, the look came from Push Pin Studios in New York. This metal diecut flange sign is single sided is marked “1-71 Stout Sign Co., St. Louis, Mo.” in the lower right corner, which dates this sign as produced in 1971. The colors are great on this sign with just some minor very light scratches on the right side of it. A couple of small marks are on the red 7 UP background that can be seen up close. The reverse of the sign is gloss black and has some scratches with paint loss. Very nice smaller sign that will fit nicely in your collection. 18919-RUP
