Designed in miniature, this salesman sample men’s collar enabled a traveling salesman to carry multiple styles with ease. It is an original sample from Cluett, Peabody & Co. The sample allowed the salesman to show several Arrow collars to a general store owner, so the owner could choose which to stock. This Arrow collar is from the “Par” line, as marked on the box and stamped on the inside of the collar. Made of the same material as the full-size model, it lets the store owner feel the texture and see the quality before ordering. This surviving example is in the original box, wrapped in original paper, and includes a note reading, “Compliments of Cluett, Peabody & Co., Inc. Troy, N. Y.” The box measures 1.5 inches tall by 2.5 inches square, with nominal wear and pencil writing on the bottom. 21448-QUT
