This early 20th century finger jointed wooden shipping box originally held 12 half pound cans of Baker’s Breakfast Cocoa. It has an image of the Baker’s Chocolate Lady on the front with the inscription “Walter Baker & Co. LTD, Established 1780, Dorchester, Mass.” The end panel is inscribed “Gold Medal Awarded Walter Baker & Co. Paris Exposition 1900” and the lid is inscribed “To be kept cool and dry.” These shipping boxes were intended to be part of the store display, hence all the inscriptions. The box measures 4 3/4″ tall by 10 5/8″ wide by 9 1/2″ deep and is in excellent condition with minor wear and light fading. Very nice way to keep your books by your favorite recliner! 8622-31YE
