Way before wedding registries, wedding gifts were hand made and wished the newlyweds much luck in their marriage. This cool beer stein is no different! It is inscribed “God wish the new married couple luck in their marriage” on the side in German with a picture of a couple in the back of a horse cart being led by two horses and the coachman. In front is a single horse with a rider formally dressed, as is the coachman. On the lid it is inscribed “M. Tischer 1851”. Some small dents on the sides of this great piece with a dent in the thumb hole on top. It is not marked anywhere what type of pewter and has not been cleaned up. Great piece of history! 9909
