Coca Cola AM Transistor Radio Vendo Coke Machine 1960s

Way before everything you need was on your phone, AM radios were the way to listen to music, sports, and talk shows everywhere you went. If you were at a picnic on a Saturday afternoon, this small radio fit perfect in your picnic basket! Produced by Jack Russell Company, this radio was a 8 Transistor from Nippon Electric Company, Ltd. and was made to look like an early 1960’s Coca Cola Vendo Coke machine. It is very detailed with the Coke bottles pictured behind the door and “Enjoy That Refreshing New Feeling” beneath the iconic Coca-Cola script. Some small scratches on the back of the radio along with some typical pry marks on the right side and the base. These were held together with one screw, so they were pretty hard to open to change the batteries. The plastic tabs on the inside of the front case that keep the battery tray in place have the ends broken off have broken off on the right side. We installed fresh batteries and it works, although I could not pickup a local AM station. Very cool to sit on a shelf and admire with your Coke collection. 18615-UP
