This unusual floor case was manufactured by Schmitt & Co. in Cincinnati in the 1890s. It is a tall, narrow nickel framed showcase with 3 glass shelves and a single oak door, mounted on an oak pedestal base allowing it to stand alone in the center of a room, rather than on a counter. The wooden base appears to be newer than the nickel case and the glass shelves are new, however the front and side glasses are original. With the base the showcase measures 77 inches tall by 20 inches wide by 18 inches deep and is in excellent condition with typical nicks, dings, and scratches on the nickel surface.
