This small wooden store counter, made of several different types of wood in a dark oak finish, dates from around the turn of the twentieth century. The oak front has four panels with pine tongue and groove wainscot inserts and the pine side panels have two inserts each. It has a pine top that appears to have been intended for a counter top showcase. The back is open with a raised floor, but no shelf. The counter measures thirty-four inches tall by fifty-five inches wide by twenty-seven inches deep, just the right size for a display at home. The counter is in excellent condition with a newer refinish. Some narrow flat moldings were removed from around the wainscot panels before it was refinished.
