Produced by Detroit Automatic Scale Company, this 2-pound candy scale gets its nickname from the distinctive slanted main body design, which allowed the store clerk to read it easily across the counter. Referred to as a “Leaner” by scale collectors, Detroit Scale produced it from the early 1900s to the 1930s. The body is cast iron, with glass on both sides of the housing, and a removable metal scoop. The scale stands 15.5 inches tall, 13 inches long, and 6 inches deep.
