Dr. Swett’s Root Beer was originated by Dr. George W. Swett, who owned two large wholesale and retail pharmacies in the 1800’s, one in Boston and the other in New York City. This small tri-fold cardboard display dates from the 1920’s and features an older man and a young lad in the center. “from Childhood to Old Age” is the slogan with “On the market for sixty years”. The outer wings show workers gathering roots, berries, and herbs for the root beer. Because of the age, the left wing has a small tear about 2.5 inches high in the fold, and the right wing has a tear in the fold at the top and bottom. The bottom is about 4 inches high, and the top is about 8 inches down, with some chipping on the bottom edge on the right side. Some wear on the middle top along with a slight fold mark. On the back of the middle, it appears to have had some water damage in the past. The colors are great and impressive for being a century in age! 18847-YTP
