Manufactured by Syracuse, China, in the early 20th century, this decorative plate was originally a free premium given to customers who purchased Forest City brand paint. It is decorated with an image of an early 19th-century gentleman in a frock coat, standing as a statue on an oversized paint can base in an urban park. Below this image is the inscription “Compliments of The Forest City Paint & Varnish Co.” The company was based in Cleveland, OH. The plate measures 8 1/4 inches in diameter and is in near-mint condition. 1200-10TT
