This unusual oak framed glass step back counter top show case dates from around the turn of the 20th century and measures 36 inches wide, 25 inches deep, 14 inches tall in the front and 34 inches tall in the rear. The upper portion has a pair of glass rear sliding doors and the lower portion has a pair of mirror faced wooden sliding doors. The front upper glass has “Hathaways” etched on it and there is a tag on the lower front inscribed “Property of C. F. Hathaway & Sons, Mfg. by M. C. McCassy, Cincinnati.” From the research that I’ve done I have found that C. F. Hathaway & Sons was either a Maine based bakery or a Boston area shirt manufacturer. I am inclined to believe that this case belonged to the latter because it would be a better display for shirts than loaves of bread. It currently has a glass shelf in the back section and brackets for a second shelf. The etched upper front panel and side panels are original. The glass top panel and front panel on the lower front portion appear to be replacements. The mirrors are also new. It has a nice older refinish and would be a unique display case. THIS IS NOT A STANDARD SHIPPABLE ITEM. IT WILL REQUIRE A THIRD PART SHIPPER. Of course, we love customers, so you are more than welcome to pick it up at our location and browse our two stores! 8647-QPWP
