This scarce small heavy cardboard easel back sign dates from the 1940s and would have been displayed at a shoe store or department store originally. It has a faux wood grain finish with yellow lettering and is inscribed “Hood Lastics The New Hood Idea in Rubbers.” No, it’s not what you’re thinking. Hood Lastics were rubber over shoes that could be slipped on over your dress shoes so they wouldn’t get wet on rainy days. The sign measures 4 7/8 inches tall by 9 3/8 inches wide and is in excellent condition with minor corner and edge wear. 16795-71TP
