A reminder of an earlier era, this stainless steel canister, or dipper well, was once a common sight at soda fountains and ice cream shops. Filled with water, it would be placed on the counter to hold the ice cream scoop between uses. This example dates from the 1930s or 1940s and has a false bottom with holes for drainage and a beaded decoration around the outside. It measures 6 1/2 inches tall by 5 3/4 inches in diameter at the base and is in excellent condition with a patina of scratches, dings, and wear from years of use. 3685-71QPP
