This rare one-sided cardboard sign dates from around 1900 and would have originally been displayed in a country store or corner grocery. It is inscribed “Jack Frost Fontaine French Fondant Co. Philadelphia, PA.” and beautifully lithographed with three round insets showing different uses for the confectionary product. The background is decorated with an icy image of Jack Frost blowing and ice-covered vegetation. The sign measures thirteen and three-quarters inches tall by ten and one-eighth inches wide and is in excellent condition, with about an inch missing from the upper right corner and some light water stains. 16008-61IT
