License plate tags were very easy to spot when they were expired! If you could not tell by the 1918 in the lower right corner, Virginia also changed colors yearly so if you saw an odd looking tag, it was either the wrong year, or from another state. This large tag measures fourteen and a half inches long by five and three-quarters inches tall. The colors for 1918 were black raised numbers and letters on a white background. The white is chipping in a few places, inside the numbers and in the upper right corner. The black raised numbers and letters have some small marks on them with some chipping as well. Some small damage in the outer corners also has some chipping. A past owner added a small hole in each corner to display the tag, as it only had the oblong holes in the top to attach to the automobile. Cool piece from a century ago! 19131-QPY
