This 1919 Virginia license plate may look huge compared to today’s license plates, but cars were much larger in the early 1900’s and automobile bumpers were much larger than current vehicles! Virginia changed the plate color and number color in the early years, and of course the year was stamped in the tag itself. This 1919 has a black background with white raised numbers and letters. The outer border is also raised. Some wear to the raised letters can be seen, along with some wear on the border. A hole in each corner has been added in the past for display purposes, as the oblong holes at the top are the original for mounting. Very cool to display! 19130-QWT
