Produced from 1904 to 1925, Maxwell Motor Company was considered one of the three top automobile firms in America for a time, along with General Motors and Ford. During the companies decline in 1921, Walter Chrysler took controlling interest in the company and in 1925 The Chrysler Corporation was formed using some of Maxwell’s designs. This tail light features the Maxwell name above the round tail light and the clear tag light beneath. The light also has a tag bracket with is embossed “Maxwell – A”. The bracket that extends would bolt to the rear fender of a Maxwell vehicle. A 1932 Illinois license plate has been added to this great piece.
