My, how times have changed! This Planters Fresh Salted Peanuts Vendo vending machine touts “The Nickel Lunch” on its front glass! Imagine dropping a nickel into this vending machine to get a pack of Planters peanuts, then using a dime for an ice-cold Coca-Cola! This great coin-operated machine is rarely seen and features seven selector pull-down handles on the front. It measures 48 inches tall, 24.25 inches wide, and 13 inches deep. It carries a tag from “The Vendo Company,” located in Kansas City, MO, with a model number of CV161B5. This original Planters machine features a professional older restoration with side graphics of Mr. Peanut and a metal front door with a glass insert to view the available peanut selection. This machine uses keys to unlock the front door, but neither key opens the coin box located inside. The machine has minor chips and scratches in various places, but it displays very nicely and looks impressive for its age. The machine was designed to mount on a wall or sit upright on a counter.
