Many vintage oyster cans featured spectacular graphics that set them apart and captured the attention of consumers. These cans were made of thin tin to allow shippers to keep the oysters cold by packing them in ice during transport. This North Crystal Brand oyster can feature a white can with blue letters, along with an image of icebergs below a curved sky. It measures 7.5 inches tall by 6.75 inches wide and is stamped “VA. 283” along the bottom lip. Some minor dents are along the top and bottom lips, along with typical paint loss.
