A wonderful collectible for chicken farmers everywhere, this celluloid button was the first prize ribbon from the first annual Southern Wisconsin Poultry Association show held in Janesville, WI. January 4-9, 1909. Manufactured by the St. Louis Button Company, the button has an image of a dignified rooster on the front. There is a hole at the top of the button for hanging and a blue ribbon attached to the bottom with the show information on the front and a paper tag on the back with lines for the name of the chicken, its owner, and what class it was shown in. The button measures 1 3/4 inches in diameter and, with the ribbon, is about 8 inches long. It is in excellent condition with some specks of discoloration under the celluloid at the edges.
