This early Auto-Pep sign is not your typical metal or cardboard design but a canvas material! The black canvas provides an excellent background for the orange screen printed letters for the Auto-Pep advertising. Auto-Pep was a 10-cent capsule that saved customers a gallon of gas while driving. We date this rare piece from the 1920s-1930s by the style of the car displayed. The screen-printed letters are sharp, with just the slightest cracking inside due to the canvas material. Eight small holes in the canvas face appear to be mounting holes over the years. Wax paper is still attached to the reverse side, with two small tears. A simple frame provides a perfect way to display and protect this early rare sign for years. 20950-WIP
