Produced by the Kaufmann & Strauss Company in about 1900, this paper sign, bordered with heads of wheat, has a wonderful image of an impish little boy, in a sailor suit and red cap, grinning over his shoulder as he attempts to escape over a fence. In the lower left corner is an image of a sack of flour, inscribed “Red – Top Flour guarantees Perfect Baking Aunt Jemima Mills Company St. Joseph, MO.” It is marked TRADE MARK REGISTERED on the bottom left and 2099 KAUFMANN & STRUSS on lower right. Colors are bright and vibrant with no fading. The sign measures about 21 1/2 inches tall by 16 inches wide and is in excellent condition with some light creases and several small, closed holes. The sign came from a collection we purchased. It had been mounted on a piece of crescent board for display. It is It has been framed for display and protection. 17003-71QPPP
