This scarce wooden shotgun shell case box dates from the 1930’s and originally held five hundred Remington Nitro Club twelve gauge three inch number 6 shotgun shells. The dovetailed box is inscribed “Small Arms Ammunition Loaded Shot Gun Cartridges Remington Arms Company, Inc. successor to The Remington Arms Union Metallic Cartridge Company, Inc. U.M.C. Bridgeport Works. Bridgeport, Conn., U.S.A.” on the sides and has the Remington red button emblem and the cartridge size on the ends. The box measures nine inches tall by fourteen and a half inches wide by nine and a half inches deep and is in excellent condition with a nice patina of staining and wear.
