Like today, customers ordered items they needed from a catalog and arrived via train or horse & buggy. This store display was a Sellograph display with 10-cent merchandise orders guaranteed by the United States Merchantile Company. Customers would exchange money for these tickets, which they would keep and use when their products arrived. It is dated for use prior to January 1, 1926, so we date this from 1925. According to the die-cut topper, there were “Numerous Free Gifts” for purchase; ask the clerk.
