This beautifully decorated container has a tin top and bottom and cardboard sides and originally held five pounds of tea leaves, imported by Montgomery Ward and Company in the mid teens. The front and back panels have an image of a young Oriental lady enjoying a cup of tea as she stands in front of a bamboo trellis. They are inscribed “Tea Montgomery Ward & Co. New York, Chicago, Kansas City, Fort Worth, Portland.” Brewing instructions are listed on the side panel. The container measures eleven and a half inches tall by eight inches wide by six and a quarter inches deep and is in good condition with corner wear, discoloration, and minor nicks and scratches. 9871-51QPP
