Texaco Porcelain Star Mounted On Porcelain Corrugated Panel

The first Texaco star arrived in 1903 when a refinery worker suggested the company embraced the five pointed symbol of Texas. The Texaco star was utilized in multiple places including the Texaco logo and this ultra nice service station sign. The red Texaco star has a porcelain finish and is mounted to an original corrugated porcelain panel which once hung on the side of a Texaco service station. The star has a few small chips on the face of the point, with a larger one on the right side. The green and white backing panel also has a few chips along with a cut in the metal on the lower left corner, and some paint residue on the top. It is very rare to find the original backer, which compliments the Texaco star perfectly. 20718-
