In the late 1800s and early 1900s, glass apothecary jars became icons for holding sweets like peppermint sticks and licorice. While originally used for medicinal storage, today our customers enjoy these jars for display and decoration. This particular jar is among the largest in our inventory, standing 19.25 inches tall with the lid and measuring about 9.5 inches wide. It features a scallop-patterned lid with scallop detailing at the top and bottom of the Dakota jar. The flat stopper top has a ground lip, and the jar has a ground edge where the lid rests. A small chip (3/8 inch) is along the jar’s top edge, but it does not affect the jar’s appearance. 20649-WPP
