An easy way to advertise sales promotions, this late 1930s fabric banner for Sinclair Anti-Freeze features a Dick Tracy-style driver escaping winter’s icy grip. The cartoon car and driver were a take on the Dick Tracy series that was introduced in the 1930s and had a popular following. Using this fabric banner, the service station could easily place this 30 by 80 banner anywhere during winter. Some light stains are on the fabric, with a small hole along the top edge. Slight fading is evident on the face of the cloth banner. It is marked “M. C. A. Sign Co. Massillon Ohio” in the lower right corner.
