This United States 5’s Cigar wooden box from 1898 measures 5 inches tall, 7 inches deep, and 15.25 inches long. The lid and ends have inlaid designs. On the front, there is a paper label showing a lady in a period dress, with the American flag behind her and an eagle in the lower right corner. The front label shows typical wear. Inside the lid, there is a larger paper label with the same image and writing, which is in better shape with only minor edge wear. Around the lady’s picture, it says La Belle Creole Cigar Factory. These cigars were made by S. Hernshein Bros. & Co. in New Orleans, Louisiana. The outer edges of the box show normal wear, and there are some tears on the inside paper label. The fabric hinge has come loose from the box, so the lid is not attached. 21308-QTP
