This cute turn-of-the-20th-century pine cabinet measures 31 inches tall by 25 inches deep by 55 inches wide and has eight six-inch-deep drawers in the rear. It has a three-plank top and two wainscot panels angled at 45 degrees on the front. The sides are plain, and there are three brackets on the front and two on either side that attach to the top, which overhangs four inches in the front and three inches on the sides. The counter was probably built by a country cabinet maker for a local store. It has been refinished, but all the scuffs and scratches from years of use remain, creating a beautiful patina. The large, useful drawers have flat fronts with beveled edges, and brass pulls that look like replacements. The cabinet would be an excellent base for a showcase.
