Marking the first East to West Transatlantic flight, this 1928 pinback button features pictures of Baron von Huenefeld and Captain Koehl, with a small metal plane hanging from a ribbon attached to the celluloid button. By flying East to West, the pilots opened up the aerial route to North America while fighting winds and compass problems. The airplane has one bent front wheel, and one missing front wheel. Over the years the ribbon has frayed as well. Super great piece of history! 20122-1141
