Downtown was the epicenter for shopping and eating a century ago. The stores were designed with large front windows to allow the public to “window shop” and for the store owner to showcase new products or company displays. Coca-Cola capitalized on this advertising and made elaborate store displays like Uncle Remus and Brer Rabbit. The large cardboard display grabbed the customer’s attention, and the store owner gave this miniature cutout to the children when their parents purchased a Coca-Cola product. This cardboard display features all the animals from the Uncle Remus story and is uncut and original. Each piece has an animal holding a Coca-Cola glass or a Coca-Cola sign.
