Paint advertising is a niche many collectors love. This Advance Paint Company metal ashtray was a desk accessory used by a company officer. It is made of “Pot” metal, which is heavy enough to use as a paperweight as well if the person did not smoke cigarettes. Each end has a small cutout for resting a cigarette, along with remnants of green and yellow paint. The company’s name, “Advance Paint Company,” is embossed along the bottom of each side.
