Antique Country Store Counter Faux Woodgrain

This circa 1900 pine store counter has a single panel on the front and the ends, and an open back with two shelves made of scraps of wood. The counter is still decorated with its original faux-woodgrain paint on the sides and old red mahogany paint on the top. A neat feature is the strip of brass nails added to the back edge of the top in eighteen-inch increments, most likely for measuring cloth. Remember, general stores sold practically everything in 1900, and most rural folks made their own clothes. The counter measures 32 inches tall by 128 inches long by 28 inches deep and is in excellent condition, with honest wear and scratches, mainly on the top. Due to the size and/or fragility of this item, pickup arrangements must be made. We may be able to assist with 3rd party transport. Please contact us. 14870-51QQWT
