Calendar 1935 Lady and Parrot Gerlach Barklow Joliet

This rare 1935 advertising calendar has a great image of a pretty young lady in an orange gown sitting next to a brightly colored parrot and is inscribed “Let Bradshaw Crandell Put Punch in Your Advertising, The Gerlach Barklow Co. Billboard Calendars, Joliet, Illinois, 7 square feet of choice wall space for a year.” Bradshaw Crandell was the artist who painted the image, “Pretty Please,” and Gerlach Barklow was the manufacturer. These large calendars were made to sell to stores, restaurants, and other businesses so there is only the January month sheet attached to the calendar. Salesmen would show these to potential buyers. The calendar measures about 46″ tall by 21″ wide and is in excellent condition with two creases where it was folded up. The colors are sharp and crisp. there is a slight glare in the photo from flash. 14016-31RPP
