What sets this air meter apart from the run-of-the-mill air meters you see everywhere is the Drum Recoil Base, where the air hose stays coiled up inside the air meter. The cast iron base is embossed “Western Mfg. Co. – Oskawosa, Iowa” and restored in Polly Gasoline green. The metal body features gloss black paint with newer Polly Gasoline decals on each side. A polished, embossed instruction plate is attached to the rounded housing. A few minor chips with paint loss are on the metal body. A beautiful chrome crank handle connects to the dial behind the glass. The green cast iron pole rises from the body, and the rounded “AIR” globe completes the period-correct appearance.
