This Ingram’s Carbolated Witch Hazel Salve celluloid over cardboard sign, dating from the early 1900s, shows a blue-collar worker in his workshop or on the job. The graphics on the celluloid finish look fantastic, and the gloss is excellent. It measures 19.75 inches tall by 14 inches wide, with flat outer edges and a curved center section. The sign proclaims it heals bruises, burns, and wounds and cures eczema, salt rheum, abscesses, and cracked skin. Doctors were few and far between during this time, so workers did what they could to keep themselves self-medicated. The outer edges show slight wear, with more in the corner areas. Located near the upper right corner is a 2-inch imperfection. This fantastic piece was produced by Baltimore Badge & Novelty Co., as marked along the lower edge. 21300-QTPP
