This tin lithograph Welch’s Grape Juice straw holder may be one of a few known to exist! It is from the early 20th century and has beautiful Art Nouveau designs of grape vines and clusters on the front and sides. The back panel features artwork of a paper labeled Welch’s bottle with a straw. The top hinged lid reads “Drink Welch’s The National Drink” and, when opened, reveals an interior flap to keep straws pushed forward. The tear-drop opening allows customers to take a straw with ease. The top half of this piece has aged over the years, with some discoloration and surface rust on the edges. Some paint loss is along the bottom edge.
