It’s hard to believe, but this type of gas pump was standard in 1927. The Rush Model K Visible gas pump held a maximum of 10 gallons and used gravity to dispense gasoline into the customer’s vehicle. The customer would tell the attendant how many gallons they wanted to purchase (at 17 cents per gallon), and the attendant would use a hand-operated pump to transfer the gasoline from the in-ground tank to the visible cylinder. The attendant would pull a valve, and the gasoline would dispense from the cylinder into the vehicle’s gas tank. This pump is an older restoration done in Gulf colors. It features a metal globe housing with replacement lenses, dated September 1982, along with an acrylic cylinder. The hose and the nozzle appear original, along with the brass plates. The body has a few minor scuffs, typical of its age, but it displays very nicely for its age. 21355-ETPP
