One of the more interesting ways used by oil companies to attract customers in the early days of motoring was this magazine, “The Socony Standard,” produced by Standard Oil of New York for its customers. Filled with ads for Socony products, it also carried articles about touring by automobile, advice about service and repairs, and even an article titled “Summer Fashions in the Home.” The 23-page magazine dates from 1926, measures about 11 inches tall by 8 inches wide, and is in good condition with small tears on the covers and discoloration. 16776-71QP
