Directional signs were needed in the 1920s and 1930s to inform travelers of where to find services while they were in an unfamiliar area. This embossed directional arrow sign lets travelers know they need to turn right to travel to Ilion to find ‘The Best Garage” on routes five and 5S. In fact, the garage never closes, as per their slogan, ‘We Never Close,’ on the right side of the sign. All of the letters are embossed along with the outer edge. There are some minor chips on the face of the sign, along with a few small scratches on the embossed letters. The sign has a flat finish from the factory to ensure it holds up for years.
