A wooden advertising thermometer has a Folk Art look and feel, and this one is no different. This is a circa 1940’s such thermometer. Manufactured by Dorfmann Bros. in Corona, NY, it has an image of a pint container of ice cream at the bottom and the inscription “Wagar’s Incorporated, Real homemade ice cream” at the top. It has a lovely light cream background with black lettering and yellow trim and is in excellent condition with typical finish aging and minor discoloration. One of the signature dishes was their ice cream sundae, which was made with a generous scoop of Wagar’s ice cream, whipped cream, and a cherry on top. Customers could choose from a variety of toppings, including hot fudge, caramel, and sprinkles, to create their perfect sundae. 3952-90WPP
