What a beauty this sign is! We are grading it a 9.4 on a ten scale, and it is ready for your collection. Standard Oil Company acquired Pan American Petroleum in 1925. After World War II, Standard Oil Company changed its logo to the iconic torch, along with red, white, and blue colors. In some states, Pan-Am replaced the Standard name inside the logo. This porcelain pump plate is dated 1955 and reads “Pan-Am Quality Gasoline” in bright red and blue colors on a white background. Minor chips surround the outer edge, but the field is clean and glossy. All six mounting grommets appear unused and are original.
